If it is HOT outside, the last thing anyone wants to do is bake outside. However, cooking inside can heat your house (and yourself!) up unnecessarily, and make your ac unit run longer. So install some misters to give you an evaporative feel while making dinner on your outdoor grill.
Service Call: Customer states that his air conditioner keeps tripping the breaker.
A/C Repair: This was a coleman air conditioning unit that was tripping immediately upon start-up. It was found that the compressor was shorting to ground - (a.k.a) a bad Compressor. The dual run capacitor was also very weak.
During the process of changing out the compressor and run caps for new ones, which involves removing the refrigerant from the system, I found that it only had 1 pound of r22 freon in it. (Both the low freon and weak capacitors were the cause of the compressor going bad).
Because this a/c unit was low on freon, it meant that there was a
leak somewhere in the system. So after the repair work was finished
and unit re-charged with freon, a leak check was performed and located
at the schrader valves. The valves were replaced and unit operates
Service Call: Landlord states that his rental's air conditioning unit is not working properly for his tenants.
A/C Repair: This air conditioner had a blower motor that wouldn't turn due to loose bearings. This particular motor was engineered so that the repair technician would have to return to the manufacturer to purchase one of their motors instead of using an off brand generic motor, which by the way are just as good as the original equipment. Most times, generic motors can be used to replace O.E.M parts, but some manufactures are getting smart, or one my call it greedy by welding on doggy ears to their motors to make it impossible to replace the motor without getting the motor directly from them. The reason I call it greedy is because they charge up to 3 times more for their motor than what you can buy a generic one for. Kind of like taking your car to the dealership for repair. However and as usual, when someone recognizes a problem, they create a solution so that they can profit from it. In this instance, the solution was for a company to create slip over doggy ears for generic motors and a very reasonable cost. This allows the technician to offer the customer two (2) different motors (an O.E.M. motor or a Generic motor) along with two (2) different price quotes. The latter being much more reasonable in price and something that a Landlord is always watching out for.....his/her bottom line. Of coarse, the landlord requested the least expensive of the two, the generic motor was installed and air conditioner is running and cooling. Unfortunately, sometimes it is not possible to offer this solution because some air conditioner manufacturers' are not only producing the welded doggy ear motors, but they are also engineering the motors housing so that only their motor will fit. In the end, it's the end user that has to pay for these outrageous prices, and it's the greedy manufacturer that will suffer in the long term because honest technicians and ac companies will not recommend installing certain name brand air conditioners (to their customers) where the manufacturer employs shady tactics.
Service Call: Customer says that when they came home from a weekend vacation one of their ac units wasn't working.
A/C Repair: This split system carrier unit was blowing room temperature air and the condensing units compressor and outdoor fan motor were trying to start but couldn't. The dual run capacitor was bad on this unit and was replaced. Unit returned to normal cooling. It's always a good idea to turn your air conditioner off when its not running properly because it can cause more damage to the system, the compressor in particular........which is a pricey repair. More and more people are considering the installation of a SMART thermostat with wifi capabilities. This thermostat can alert you while away from home if the temperature rises above a certain point allowing you to shut the system down remotely and avoid bigger problems.
Service Call: Residential customer says that he's been using another air conditioning company to service his unit for a couple years now and his blower wheel started vibrating loudly. The ac company that he was using gave him a flat rate quote to replace the blower wheel, and he asked them for a breakdown of the costs including material and labor. The air conditioning company said that they couldn't give out that information and he thought that was kind of fishy and was the reason that he had called A/C Handyman to get a second quote. I gave him a quote and informed that I could break it down for him if he would like. He declined and scheduled the blower wheel replacement.
Air Conditioning Repair: After inspection, it was found that the customers blower wheel was the cause of the vibration and new o.e.m blower was replaced. A/C unit is running smoothly again.

Honest Air Conditioner Repair

Bradley was recommended to me by a family member. It was one of the best reommendations I have received in some time. A/C Handyman is on time, proffesional and charges a fair price. Thank you Bradley.
Quick and Excellent Service
My A/C wasn't blowing cool, so I called at 7:00 am on a Friday. He showed up at 8:30 (when he said he would BTW) the same day! Added freon, and didn't try any hard sell tactics. Would highly recommend his services.

I saw Bradley's company in a comparison against most all the other Hvac companies in my area... while others sounded good, I was not impressed with what customers wrote about their service and fairness on pricing.... I think Bradley is extremely honest and you really do get pricing that is half of the other HVAC companies... Nice! Bradley is also the owner which I like. Nothing like dealing directly with the person that owns the business that you are buying from!!

We have two air conditioning units in our home, and every year before the hot weather hits we like to get our air conditioning units serviced to make sure they are working in the most optimum condition. The gentleman that came out to service our units was very courteous and professional. I will definitely be using this company in the future for all of my a/c service needs.
Fair, Honest, and Responsive
I called Brad early sunday AM. By 10:00 AM, the air was cold and I was relieved not to have a ridiculous bill. I have had some bad experiences with AC companies in the past but his timeliness, friendly manner, and fair prices were a huge relief. Brad's my AC guy from now on... thanks Brad!
Found my AC guy! Thanks

I do IT consulting on my own so I thought that there must be smaller companies with hard working honest guys around that do AC work. Google brought up Bradley's web page, and actually read the testimonials and thought I would give him a shot. Bradley came and diagnosed the problem to be a motor, he spent an hour making sure, and returned after obtaining the part and finishing up the other work he had scheduled that day which ended up being 11:00pm to replace it so my family could get some sleep. NO WAY would a large company have come that late, at least not without extreemly heavy fees. Thanks for the fair price and Excellent service!

Excellent Service and Knowledge
by Randall Thompson
(La Habra, CA)
I live in California and own a rental in Mesa, Az. I have used Brad as my A/C guy for a few years now because he is always there when I need him and I feel that he is honest and upfront with all details of the job. He knows A/C repair very well and gets right to the problem. Being from out-of-state I feel vulnerable to unreputable servicemen. I feel lucky to have found Brad.
